What is the Partnership Board?

The Warwickshire Learning Disabilities Partnership Board was set up to deliver the Government's Valuing People and Valuing People Now papers, bringing together people with learning disabilities along with services, professionals and carers to improve quality of life for people that have learning disabilities.


Wacky Forum Conference


The Wacky Forum have been given a grant from Aiming High to hold a conference for young people. This will be on Wednesday 6th April at Bulkington Village Centre. The Wacky Forum  members are planning the day and designing a poster. They have invited lots of people to have information stands and there is gong to be lots of things happening during the day.  


Another new team member


Sarah has been at New Ideas since August 2010 on a 6 month placement. She was due to leave at the end of January, but we are very pleased to say that she is not leaving and will join the team as youth development worker. Her main work will be in helping Jen work with the young people on the Wacky Forum.


In Our Shoes Big Day

On Friday 26th February the In Our Shoes group are presenting their latest play about employment. They are doing this in front of 200 people at the Valuing Employment Now conference in Solihull. They are also launching their photozine. Watch this space for more news on how it went.

Changing Places Campaign in Warwickshire

In 2007, the New Ideas Atherstone Locality group worked with North Warwickshire Borough Council and Warwickshire County Council on their plans for their One Stop Shop. 

Following on this work a Changing places toilet has been put in at the newly opened One Stop Shop in Shire Hall in Warwick.
